He consulted and developed IT systems in the Mining, Manufacturing, Motor and Information Technology industries. He held positions at the following companies: Iscor Ltd, Dabmar Manufacturing (Pty) Ltd, Comparex Africa (Pty) Ltd and BeST (Pty) Ltd. Some clients Imre consulted to include Ford Motor Company, Atomic Energy Corporation, Foskor, ABI, Sappi, Orica (Australia), CVRD, Namdeb, Lonmin, Impala Platinum, Anglo Platinum, WRC, Xstrata, Exxaro and RSV Enco.

Imre is a member of the Southern African Institute for Industrial Engineering (MSAIIE)
